This is a unique shaped 2 1/2″ by 2″ pyrite sun, not the normal round design usually found.  It is a lustrous design of gold flakes with the beautiful star-burst of color with golden highlights.  Pyrite Suns are over 300 million years old and are found only in Illinois Coalmines.   This is a beautiful specimen of a truly unique pyrite sun, commonly known as a miners dollar.  A beautifully stained wooden easel is provided with this pyrite sun.  Each pyrite sun is an original, with its own individual characteristics, once it’s gone, it’s gone.
