This is a very rare and unusual shaped and shaded pyrite sun.  It is in the shape of a leaf with a beautiful shining outline, with dark shades that look like the veins of the leaf.  It has the lustrous gold sunburst on each side, shimmering with colorful specks of golden highlights.  Pyrite Suns are over 300 million years old and are found only in Illinois Coalmines.   This is a beautiful specimen of a truly unique pyrite sun, commonly known as a miners dollar.  A beautifully stained wooden easel is provided with this pyrite sun.  Each pyrite sun is an original, with its own individual characteristics, once it’s gone, it’s gone.
